A Weekend at Vineyard Woods

A Vineyard Stays Weekend Itinerary | Geneva, Ohio

Vineyard Woods is a private cottage retreat in the heart of Ohio Wine Country, surrounded by wineries, covered bridges, hiking trails, and the Grand River Valley. This weekend itinerary gives you a mix of wine, nature, local food, and time to simply enjoy the property.

Friday — Arrive and Settle Into Wine Country

4:00 PM — Check In at Vineyard Woods

Settle into your private cottage, unpack, and take some time to relax on the property before heading out for the evening.

5:30 PM — Wine at M Cellars

Start your weekend with a tasting at M Cellars, one of the Grand River Valley’s boutique estate wineries and a great choice for guests who enjoy dry, European-style wines.

7:30 PM — Dinner at Bascule Bridge Grille

Head to historic Bridge Street in Ashtabula Harbor for dinner and drinks near the lift bridge.

9:30 PM — Return to Vineyard Woods

Finish the evening back at your cottage with a bottle of local wine and a quiet night in wine country.

Saturday — Hiking and the Grand River Valley

9:00 AM — Slow Morning at Vineyard Woods

Enjoy coffee and breakfast at the cottage before starting the day.

10:00 AM — Hike at Hogback Ridge Park

Spend the morning exploring Hogback Ridge Park. The wooded trails, ridges, and views of the Grand River make this a nice contrast to a day of wine tasting.

Keep the hike relaxed so you still have plenty of energy for the rest of the day.

12:00 PM — South River Vineyard

Start the wine portion of the day at South River Vineyard. The historic church setting and vineyard views make it one of the more distinctive winery stops in the Grand River Valley.

1:30 PM — Lunch and Wine at Laurentia Vineyard & Winery

Head to Laurentia for lunch and your second tasting. Its vineyard setting and lodge-style tasting room make it an ideal longer midday stop.

3:30 PM — Cask 307

Finish the afternoon at Cask 307 for a more contemporary wine-country experience and a final tasting before heading back to Vineyard Woods.

5:30 PM — Return to Vineyard Woods

Take a couple of hours to relax at your cottage before dinner.

7:30 PM — Dinner at Ferrante Winery & Ristorante

Finish Saturday with dinner at Ferrante Winery & Ristorante, where you can enjoy Italian food and estate wine without leaving Ohio Wine Country.

9:30 PM — Back to Vineyard Woods

End the evening at your cottage with a quiet drink and some downtime.

Sunday — Covered Bridge and One Last Taste

9:00 AM — Easy Morning at Vineyard Woods

Enjoy coffee and one last relaxed morning before packing up.

10:30 AM — Visit Harpersfield Covered Bridge

Take a short drive to Harpersfield Covered Bridge, one of the area’s most recognizable historic landmarks.

Walk across the bridge, take in the Grand River, and enjoy a scenic stop before your final winery visit.

11:30 AM — One Final Winery

Choose one last Grand River Valley winery before heading home.

For a bigger winery experience, visit Debonné Vineyards.

For something smaller and more relaxed, stop at Kosicek Vineyards.

1:00 PM — Head Home

Leave a little time to enjoy the drive through Ohio Wine Country before heading home.

The Vineyard Stays Tip

Don’t try to visit every winery. A better weekend is a mix of a few great tastings, local food, outdoor time, and enough unscheduled time to enjoy where you’re staying.

Stay Where the Grapes Grow.
